NLP vs Quaning
First of all, I love NLP. I have trained and coached for years on the basis of among other things NLP. I am very grateful to its developers. And yet, I kept noticing that there had to be something that would deliver even more to my clients.
Quite a long time ago I did an HBO training for paranormal therapist. I did that training mainly because I wanted to be able to give words to what I did for the clients in my practice for paranormal therapy. Also in my second year I had become little wiser in that area. When I talked about this with Ton van Pelt, who was a conversation skills teacher there at the time. He put me on the trail of NLP.
What I read about it appealed to me. I attended information meetings of NLP training institutes. I noticed that there were many different approaches: traditional NLP or a bit removed from the original idea, business-oriented or more privately oriented, focus on theoretical knowledge or practice-oriented. The atmosphere per institute also differed considerably. I chose an institute and within a year and a half I did the NLP Practitioner, NLP Master Practitioner and the NLP Trainers program. After that I assisted for another year at a second training institute where they had a different approach.
I immediately applied what I learned in my practice. Very fun to do. My practice for paranormal therapy naturally turned into a coaching practice. When I was scouted during the NLP Trainer training by one of the assistants with her own training agency, I also started providing training based on NLP within organizations. That went great. Eye openers for the participants every time.
In coaching from NLP it was important to always choose the right interventions. Of course, I was trained in that: communication model, observation positions, logical levels, value hierarchy, convict change, timeline therapy, and much more. I have used them day after day for years. I know them through and through. Super fun to do, and yet ...
Now I understood why
I noticed that hardly any lasting results were achieved. When, during the development of Quaning, I stumbled upon the model of the 12 dimensions of the German theoretical physicist Burkhard Heim, I understood why. NLP mainly works on the dimensions 1 to 6. It is about visible and perceptible results/behavior and about thoughts. With the logical levels you look at a person's mission and identity. So you then could say that you, as a coach, work in dimensions 7 and 8. That might be the case, and usually you deal with the living mechanism that makes choices based on information that still contains life lessons for someone. In this way, that living mechanism does everything it can to keep someone within the confidence of that information. After all, it is classified as safe. As a result, among other things, someone seems to take steps during the coaching, but as soon as life takes its course again, he will notice at a good moment that he is doing as usual again. In fact, he often experiences even more impactful that which he just wanted to get rid of.
And that has everything to do with the information in the personal information field that has to be changed to get different and sustainable results in someone's life. This is most effective when it is objectively analyzed around which theme information in the personal information field needs to be changed and when the information is changed directly in those dimensions 7 and 8.
